Darwin was named by John Lort Stokes in 1839 after a third voyage on the Beagle. The 1871 Gold Rush expanded this settlement into a large town which has now grown into a beautiful city in North Central Australia. Darwin has a tropical climate of 90 degrees Fahrenheit and attracts visitors from all around the world. Jessica Mauby, an R & B pop singer, songwriter and actress was born in Darwin as was the NHL hockey player, Jordan Too.
