Belle Miners Powerful Owl Tour: Berry – Berry

The debut album ‘Powerful Owl’ by Folk band Belle Miners was recently released in November, with some special aroma to it. The trio, Australian-based Jaime Jackett, and Canadian based Marina Avros and Felicia Harding will be combining the relatable stories and exquisite harmonies on the 4th of January into a ten-track positive journey covering themes from loss and love, and how to overcome life-threatening issues. Nighty Flight and Strange World are inspired by the experience of Jaime’s struggle as a brain cancer patient for 11 years.

Brickfest at the Bay – Port Stephens Area

With exhibitors from all across the New South Wales, displaying fantastic creations, the Brickfest season is back for a 2-day event from 6th to 7th of January, with lots to do for the family groups. They have a specific build area, especially for children, and this year they have also introduced remote control system to be controlled by the kids. Having supported various local community projects, The Action Club will once again take the responsibility of running barbecue and drinks.

Parkes Elvis Festival – Parkes

An immortal legend of the music industry, Elvis Presley will be given a tribute with a wide celebration of his life and music to be held in Parkes from the 10th of January. Over 120 events will be taking place at different venues, and the festival is known for attracting local and international tribute artists, and over 25000 national visitors to the state. The key highlights would be the Feature concert series starring the Northparkes Mines Street Parade, Elvis Tribute Artist Concept, Ben Thompson and Up, Close and Personal with Mark Andrew.

The Leura Shakespeare Festival – Leura

With dark satirical masterpieces to a dose of laughter, Shakespeare has given us everything to talk about. This 13th of January, the extravagant season in Leura will start with a feast of comedy, featuring some of the best and fresh comedic actors including Mackenzie Fearnley, Janine Watson, Steph Kelly, Samantha Ward, Gabriel Fancourt, George Zhao, Adele Querol, Meg Clarke, Andrew Hearle and Claudia Ware. You and your kids are going to have a great time at the show, with a tribute to one of most renowned person in the history of literature.

Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival

With an objective to showcase plentiful entertainment, boutique stalls and local produce, including potato meals and delicious lamb, The Lamb and Potato Festival on the 17th of January will be held under the shades of beautiful elm trees at Guyra; an ideal stopping point for tired travellers. The festival is conducted in January every year, with the community hosting a variety of events in association with it, making a perfect spot for a summer break. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take a break in cool atmosphere of Guyra.

Surfest Newcastle Australia – Newcastle

Known to be the biggest festival of surfing in Australia, Surfest Newcastle offers a wide range of water activities, with 11 different surfing events, spread across the month, starting 20th of January. In its 33rd appearance, the event will witness over 800 competitors launching in the Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie and Newcastle government areas. The action will start with the Lake Macquarie Surfing Festival, with the main events being Grandstand Physio Women’s Pro and Burton Automotive Pro. Actions out of the water include surfer sessions, entertainment and markets.

triNowra Nowra Triathlon Festival – Nowra

Set against the river banks of the Shoalhaven, the elegant racecourse has a scenic view heading along the flat country. On the 21st of January, it will be hosting the Nowra Triathlon Festival with the event including something for everyone, including Standard, Sprint and Enticer distance running. There will be a 1.5km long swim leg in the River, followed by a couple of laps of 40km cycle leg and the 10 km flat run leg. The course has been defined as flat and fast, with a challenging edge to it. Nowra is an easy drive from the city of Sydney, and one should miss this event at any cost.

Australia Day Gosford – Gosford

What better place to celebrate Australia Day than the Kibble Park in Gosford. With an interactive performance by Little Puppet World, face painting and children’s activities, the event will host a variety of community displays and market stalls for you to enjoy. There will be live entertainment on the main stage and performances from Live Baby Live and Grizzlee Train. Gosford Australia Day Community awards will also be given out on the particular day. The event will be concluded with spectacular fireworks and live soundtrack.

Four Wheel Drive Spectacular – Queanbeyan

This biennial event on the 30th of January is aimed at encouraging recreational and responsible use of 4WD in the Australian conditions. The event offers potential drivers to gain access to products and information that will encourage safe outdoor activities. Some of the key features include food stalls, coffee tent, kid’s activities, Regional 4WD club displays, camping equipment, tent and latest 4WD vehicles. The event plan will offer many action and static displays of 4WD activities.
